Project Glass makes a TV appearance on Charlie Rose, flashes its rear for the cameras

Project Glass makes a TV appearance on Charlie Rose, flashes its rear for the cameras

Google fellow, founder of Project X and self-driving car pioneer Sebastian Thrun became the latest to publicly rock a Project Glass prototype (after company co-founder Sergey Brin) on a recent episode of Charlie Rose, and managed to show off a whole new side of the project in the process. While the 19-minute interview was mostly unremarkable product-wise with a focus on higher education and his Udacity project, we did get to see him take a picture of the host (about a minute in) by tapping it, then posting it on Google+ by nodding twice. Also, as Electronista points out, in a brief reverse shot (17:20) of Thrun we see for the first time what appears to be a small battery pack / transmitter portion lodged behind his ear. Of course, we're still not any closer to rocking the latest in bionic man-chic ourselves, but at least we can start getting fitted for one now.

Nas' 'Daughters' A 'Disappointment' To Mother Of His Child

'He had nothing positive to say about our daughter and his depiction of her is false,' Carmen Bryan tweets after hearing Nas' new single.

While fans are raving over Nas' new single, "Daughters," not everyone is happy about the Don's ode to fatherhood. Especially Carmen Bryan, the mother of Nas' daughter, Destiny, whom the MC raps about extensively on the No I.D.-produced track.

"Just heard 'Daughters' by Nas. What a disappointment! He had nothing positive to say about our daughter and his depiction of her is false," Carmen Bryan wrote on Twitter Thursday after the song was released online.

Bryan's Twitter isn't verified, but MTV News was able to confirm through a source that the account in question does belong to Nas' ex. Now, this isn't the first time the MC has referenced his child on record; he first rapped about her on "The World is Yours," a single off of his 1994 debut album Illmatic. On his 2004 double LP Street's Disciple, Nas lovingly sang of "daddy's little girl" on "Me & You (Dedicated to Destiny)," but "Daughters" has a distinctly different tone.

"I saw my daughter send a letter to some boy her age/ Who's locked up, first I regretted it, then caught my rage," God's Son rapped on the track's first verse.

On the second verse, the Queensbridge MC addressed the February incident when the 17-year old Destiny showed off her condom collection on Twitter. "At this point I realized I ain't the strictest parent," Nas rapped, blaming himself for not spending enough time with her.

Bryan is no stranger to scandal. In 2007, she penned "It's No Secret," a tell-all book that detailed how her and Nas' relationship deteriorated and her affair with Jay-Z.

A label rep at Def jam, Nas' label wouldn't comment on the matter, but Nas did send out a special tweet to his little girl on Thursday. "I Love My Princess Destiny Jones," he wrote.

iFixit tears open an HP Z1, finds it impossibly easy to repair

iFixit tears open an HP Z1

Those guys and gals at iFixit love nothing more than destroying something beautiful and, in the process, finding out exactly what makes it tick. The latest victim of their reckless deconstructive tendencies is HP's Z1. The all-in-one turns out to be just as beautiful on the inside as it is outside. The components aren't haphazardly tossed inside the tight enclosure or soldered in place. The impressively repairable and replaceable parts all slide out easily, with at most the turn of a few screws. Only the LCD and glass pane posed an obstacle, but even that turned out to be relatively simple to remove. For more photos of the tiny workstation torn asunder, check out the source link.

Things You Never Thought Would Happen: Wu-Tang?s Raekwon Makes ?Google That? Rap Video

"She told me that she Googled my name up /?Shootings, robberies and big coke came up". These are lyrics from "Google That", a vulgar, violent new rap song from NORE Styles P, and Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon immortalizing the search engine. In it, the rappers brag about how their crimes and jail time are so famous you can find them on the Internet.

Most tech companies probably wouldn't mind being mentioned in pop culture, but probably not like this.?Rap enthusiast Ben Horowitz might love it, though. Here's the video and full lyrics.

Ke$ha Pees on Street, Tweets Photo

Ke$ha has stooped to a new low on Twitter... literally!

The dollar-signed singer - who has tried to get attention in the past for her wild haircuts - has now given followers a glimpse at the other end of her body, as she squatted in the streets of Los Angeles early Wednesday morning and sent out a photo of herself urinating.

Ke$ha Twit Pic

"Pee pee on the street. PoPo come and get me if you can find me," Ke$ha wrote. "I blame traffic."

According to California law, if the PoPo had spotted this act, the artist could have been fined $270 fine. In related news: Ke$ha really, really needs a new hit single, lest we be subjected to more gross cries for attention.

Square's feeling good, on pace to take $5 billion in payments per year

Square's feeling good, on pace to take $5 billion in payments per yearDespite growing competition from PayPal, Intuit and Verifone, it appears that Square's business is still going gangbusters. The grandaddy of all smartphone payment systems is set to take $5 billion in payments this year, up from $2 billion a scant six months ago. According to company COO Keith Rabois, such expansive growth has been fostered by the fact that Square makes the cash from transactions available to merchants the next business day -- a feature greatly appreciated by small businesses. Clearly, Huey Lewis was right, and you can see what we mean after the break.

Google Maps offers photo tours of popular destinations, won't make you leave the couch (video)

Google Maps offers photo tours of popular destinations, won't make you leave the couch (video)

Looking to get a better feel for that Yosemite National Park expedition this summer? Google Maps is looking to go beyond the regular ol' snapshot and offer an experience that feels more like an actual visit -- only you won't have to leave your sofa. The folks in Mountain View have added photo tours to over 15,000 sites around the globe from Italy to the aforementioned Half Dome in California. A search for your virtual destination of choice will indicate whether or not a tour is available for that particular locale. How does it work? The outfit uses user-contributed Picasa and Panaromio photos -- only those listed as public -- alongside some fancy computer techniques to provide a 3D tour. Along the way, Maps selects the best possible path through the highest quality images. At the bottom of each photo, contributor credit is given and Goog says when more shots get shared, these tours will improve over time. You'll need Google Maps with WebGL to get the sightseeing started, though. If you're looking for a quick preview, hit the video just past the break.
